postgraduate students

Newstrack Online is dedicated to bolstering the practice of journalism, as part of the greater empowerment of South African society. For this reason, we provide bursaries to qualifying candidates, enabling them to pursue careers in journalism.

The criteria? Candidates must have completed a relevant undergraduate qualification, be historically disadvantaged, and have a passion for journalism. It is also essential that they want to make a difference in our society.

Meet Nonkululeko Njilo

Hi, my name is Nonkululeko Njilo and I have a degree in International Relations and Politics (2015).

I am proud to have just completed my Honours in Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Witwatersrand (2017).

I am eternally grateful for the emotional and financial support Newstrack Online provided me with. Had it not been for your support my dream could have been in vain, thank you for making it a reality.

Tebadi Mmotla

Meet Tebadi Mmotla

Hello, my name is Thebadi Mmotla. I have a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Politics (2015) and my Honours in International Relations (2016).

With the assistance of Newstrack Online I have successfully completed my Honours in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Witwatersrand (2017).

I look forward to working as a journalist, telling and writing accurate and thoroughly researched stories, that will shape a better South Africa.
